TOM'S TACOS

PICTURED (top to bottom): Restaurant Sign, Shredded Beef Tacos, Tacos with Rice and Beans, Wet Shredded Beef Burrito with Tacos, Beef Tamale with Tacos.

I'm working on Sunday again, and the fab crew here all decide to try the crispy tacos at Tom's Tacos down the street. The Tacos are good, but could have used a little more meat. My Wet Burrito was pretty good, but would have been better with some cheese on it. We all decided the best thing from Tom's were the Beef Tamales- big, meaty and very tasty.

THE DEPOT PART TWO- THE DESSERTS

PICTURED (top to bottom): Pecan Brownies with Strawberries, Banana Cream Pie with Ganache Filling, Lemon Creme Brulee Tart, Pecan Pie with Fresh Cream and Strawberries, Fruit Cobbler with Fresh Cream and Berries.

Yes, this post is all about the desserts at The Depot! They just kept coming. Count 'em. All Beautiful and All Delicious. My favorites were the Banana Cream Pie and the Lemon Creme Brulee. Nothing left at our table but a few Brownies (and they went home with someone).
I think the desserts saved the evening!

THE DEPOT

PICTURED (top to bottom): Restaurant, Caesar Salad, Tuscan Grilled Chicken with Mashed Potatoes, Penne Pasta in Marinara Sauce with Rock Shrimp, Pesto Pan-Fried Salmon with Julienne Vegetables.

The "gang" from work gathered together tonight at The Depot (www.depotrestaurant.com/) in Torrance for a company sponsored dinner/lecture. We love The Depot-it's a beautiful restaurant with a great chef and a wonderful menu. Tonight's dinner is served "family style" with Caesar Salad and three entrees: Tuscan Grilled Chicken, Penne Pasta in Marinara with Rock Shrimp and Pesto Pan-fried Salmon. My personal "fav" was the Salmon.
Comments from our table ranged from "pretty good" to "just ok". But the real hit of the evening was the desserts- so extensive an array, that I saved it for a separate post!

TACOS SAN PEDRO

PICTURED (top to bottom): Restaurant, Taquitos with Guacamole and Sour Cream, Carne Asada Tacos with Rice and Beans, Carnitas Burrito-Wet-with Salsa Verde and Extra Cheese and Carne Asada Tacos.

It's Memorial Day Monday and I'm working again. Staffing is "holiday light" so we've got to bring lunch in. We're all craving Mexican, but the Taco Place down the street is closed for the Holiday. One of the "fab" crew goes on the hunt and finds Tacos San Pedro open. We give her our orders, and soon we are hooked up with a Mexican Feast.
Taquitos and Tacos are fine for the ladies; but Burger Boy here has got to have a great big Wet Burrito (with a couple Carne Asada Tacos on the side).
We all agreed: Tacos San Pedro es Muy Delicioso!!!

IN-N-OUT BURGER

It's Sunday and I'm still stuck at work all day. It's almost noon and we're all gettin' hungry. One of the "fab"crew says "Double-Doubles?? and we all say Yes-Yes!! Someone volunteered to make the Burger Run and pretty soon we are all "seein' double-double".
Nothing like In-N-Out when you need a quick burger fix.

KENTUCKY FRIED CHICKEN

PICTURED (top to bottom): Restaurant, Double Down Sandwich, Chicken-Mac and Cheese-Cole Slaw-Iced Tea, Biscuits-Mashed Potatoes-Gravy, Lunch Plate.

Well it's Saturday, and I'm stuck at work all day. But the "fab" crew here is feeling like KFC, so we send one of them out to get us some lunch.
I decided to try the Double Down Sandwich. Hey! Who needs a bun? Actually it was quite yummy, with cheese and a spicy sauce in the middle. We also got a big Lunch Special- with a bucket of chicken, biscuits, three sides and a jug of iced tea. The chicken was just out of the fryer-piping hot and very fresh- and there was more than enough food for our hungry crew.
Now it's back to work, and Thank You Colonel Sanders!.
